Chris returned to Edge Hill University in 2019 as Programme Lead for the Advanced Clinical Practice programme and more recently as Associate Head of Post Graduate Medical Education and NWIA. Chris is currently a registered Nurse and Paramedic, having worked at an advanced level across both professions. Chris’s initial career spans both primary and secondary care services, having being a Resuscitation Officer, specialising in both adult and child cardiac arrest management.
Following a success full career with the North west region, Chris took himself and his family to the Shetland Islands where he lived and worked on a non-doctor island called Bressay. Having lived and worked within the community, Chris has a passion for remote and rural care and the role of advancing clinical practice. Having successfully completed a clinical doctorate in nursing, Chris took a career change and qualified as a paramedic across the isles, undertaking clinical responsibility and team leader role from Shetland. Chris returned to Liverpool to initially work as an advanced paramedic practitioner before returning to academia and his current role as Associate Head of department.
